Founded by Bart Oates and Rick Cerone in 1998, the Teach Our Children Foundation (TOCF) demonstrates their commitment to education by supporting educationally based organizations that are preparing our children for a bright future. The Teach Our Children Foundation’s mission is to provide aid for educational and developmental opportunities for children of the greater Newark, New Jersey area.

Due to their impressive careers in the world of sports, Bart and Rick are not strangers to the citizens of New Jersey. Bart is a former NY Giant who went on to graduate from Seton Hall Law School and is presently a Regional Director for Workstage. Rick is a former NY Yankee, alumnus of Seton Hall University and President of Stellar Concepts, as well as founder and President of the Newark Bears minor league baseball team. The sense of pride, purpose and accomplishment that they both share, has been translated to the children served by the Teach Our Children Foundation.

Bart and Rick have always demonstrated their commitment to the greater Newark area by their support and participation with various charitable organizations and worthwhile causes. TOCF enables them to expand this commitment, while providing a focused commitment to our children’s education.

To date, the Teach Our Children Foundation has supported the students at St. Benedict’s Prep, St. Michael’s Grammar School, the North Ward Center, the Newark Boys and Girls Club, The Link Community School, and Shepherds of Youth.
